Peter DiMaria:
1,000 - sure, 100 -

John Slater:
Damn, this was tough.
I've had a top 5 list in my head for awhile, but expanding it to 10 opened
up way too many possibilities. At one point I had a list of about 25

Anyway, here are the
ones that made the cut (ask me next week and it could be totally
different):

Revolver

the People

Rain, Crooked Rain

Violent Femmes, Nirvana, the Beastie Boys, Big Star, the Flaming Lips,
Wilco and many others are floating sadly just offshore.

Montgomery #2:
Fellow music lovers:
After seven years on
the island, a Portuguese merchant marine vessel picked me up.
On our way from the
Pacific to their Cacao factory near the Horn of Africa, a huge storm in the
Indian Ocean hit us.
All the crew and the
ship were lost. Lucky I was
able to piece together my favorite CDs from the ship's vast library, jam
them with a stack of peanut butter sandwiches, into a waterproof blue
flight case, and float to a nearby atoll. Other than my longing for the spicy Madeira-style shrimp
cakes fried up by my pals from Lisbon, I was happy to have found dry land
-- and to have great tunes with me.
Though my previous list
are truly my favs. -- after having listened to Bowie and the Beatles for
seven years, I am thrilled
that the below albums
are seriously amazing stuff.
These are sounds that
changed the world and ring in my soul.
1) Tuxedomoon - Desire
2) Madonna - Ray of
Light
3) Kraftwerk -
Radio-Activity
4) Devo - Duty Now for the Future
5) New Order - Power,
Corruption & Lies
6) Lene Lovich -
Stateless
7) Thomas Dolby - The
Golden Age of Wireless
8) Human League - Dare
9) Moby - Everything Is
Wrong
10)
Go-Gos - Beauty & the Beat
